Graham Dwyer (grahamdwyer@swin.edu.au) is Course Director (Master of Social Impact) at the Centre for Social Impact at Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne, Australia. He has previously held research positions at the University of Melbourne, RMIT University as well as an affiliation with the Bushfire & Natural Hazards Research Cooperative Research Centre (now Natural Hazards Research Australia). His research interests revolve around natural hazards, sensemaking, learning, and change in emergency management organizations. His research has been published in journals such as Organization Studies, Human Relations, Management Learning, International Journal of Disaster Risk Reduction and Australian Journal of Public Administration. His book, Making Sense of Natural Disasters, examines the ways that emergency management practitioners can learn from bushfire history in Australia. He is a previous recipient of an Australian Safer Communities Award.
